Hospital Energy Efficiency

DCC sought to pressure the Duke University Health System to improve energy efficiency and reduce its climate impacts, since the hospital system was exempt from the university's climate action plan.

Green New Deal for Durham

DCC and Sunrise Durham collaborated with then-Durham Mayor Steve Schewel to sign the Green New Deal pledge, as well as envision a climate action plan for the city.

GoTriangle Light Rail

DCC advocated for the Duke administration to approve the proposed GoTriangle light rail project that would provide affordable public transportation between Durham and Chapel Hill. However, Duke refused to approve the project, leading to its ultimate demise. 

No New Gas

DCC rallied the Duke and Durham communities against the construction of a natural gas plant on Duke's campus. The campaign successfully pressured the Duke administration to drop the project.
